With an average annual temperature of 63 degrees and an average summer temperature of 80 degree, Broken Bow is a great place to spend a lot of time outdoors. Beaver’s Bend State Park is a popular location to stop at with many miles of hiking and horseback trail riding available. Beaver’s Bend Depot offers a unique way to experience the scenic area inside the park. Board a miniature train replica that is one third of the size of C.P. Huntington SP train that was originally built in 1863. This train will take you on a trip through the park’s game reserve where you might have the chance to spot local wildlife. Beavers bend luxury cabins are nearby.
Broken Bow Lake provides lots of water activities for its visitors. There are unique opportunities for fly fishing, boating, water skiing, canoeing, swimming, and diving in the area. Bring your own boat, or there are boat rentals available at Broken Bow Lake’s only marina, Beaver’s Bend Marina. Beavers bend luxury cabins put you close to all the water activity.
Just thirteen miles North of Broken Bow is Hochatown. This is considered the heart of the Broken Bow Lake area and has lots of things to do, including several amazing festivals in the area. Don’t miss the Owa Chito Festival in June and Beaver’s Bend Folk Festival in November!
There are also many places to practice your golf swing whether you are trying for a hole-in-one or playing mini golf with the kids! Ziplining and Nature Centers in the area let visitors explore and learn more about the great outdoors including native wildlife and plants. The Forest Heritage Center and Museum provides a fun learning experience while exploring the area’s history which dates back to when the Choctaw Tribe owned the land!
After a day exploring, stop at any of the amazing restaurants in the area. Whether you are looking for pizza, BBQ, a steakhouse, or seafood, you will find a lot of amazing options. Locals agree Abendigos Steakhouse and Shuck Me (seafood) are top options for dinning. Leave room for dessert!
