There are also two family rooms at Bending Waters, each with their own wood-burning fireplace and walk-out access to a deck on the river-facing side. The formal dining room is located off the main-floor living room — the perfect place to host holiday dinners or large-group game nights.
Sleeping arrangements: Bending Waters has three private bedrooms with three double beds, two twin beds and two queens. The master bedroom has an attached bath with a jetted tub and a walk-in rain shower. There is also a gas fireplace and a private deck overlooking the river.

Lake Tenkiller is just a quarter mile away from the estate, and offers tons of fun for the whole family. This is an all-sports recreation lake where you can fish, paddle and swim to your heart’s desire. Bending Waters is also surrounded by the majesty of the Ozark Mountains and rich dogwood forests. No matter the season, there is scenery and adventure to be found here.

Every year my family located through-out Oklahoma and Colorado meet at Bending Waters for the 4th of July. It is such a wonderful bonding experience for all, that it was observed that the younger generation now coming up, think the 4th of July IS Bending waters….While the rest (aka older) of us have a more diverse 4th of July memory bank, none can recall one enjoyed as much as those spent at Bending Waters. — Ruth Ann, Jul 2015
The Bending Waters property is absolutely breathtaking! The views of the Illinois river are exceptional, waking up every morning to a variety of beautiful birds (including hummingbirds and red headed woodpeckers) and trout swimming in the river was very peaceful and relaxing. We didn’t ever want to leave! We were captivated by the stunning, colorful Autumn view from every oversized window. This spacious home is literally built high in the trees — where eagles fly. We were astounded when a pair of American bald eagles landed just outside the bedroom window. Unique design features of the home include: spacious, professional kitchen, enormous windows, gorgeous custom cabinets throughout, custom shower (amazing!), three family areas, large dining room, palatial master suite, and romantic double-sided fireplace. We enjoyed plenty of room for everyone. Favorite memory for the kids: hiking down the cliff to the river where they learned to skip rocks. Favorite memory for the adults: peace and quiet. For me, there is nothing like coming here because this is a beautiful serene place where the stresses of life just seem to float away down the river.
The majestic views from our beautiful home inspire my creativity and romance while rejuvenating my souls. Living on the land and enjoying the scenic clear waters is refreshing and exhilarating, while providing lots of fun and adventure for me and my entire family. As I leave this safe harbor, I am always strengthened and rejuvenated to face the stormy sea of life once again! I purchased this estate in 2002.
